Lower shade to
sill or floor
-
Unroll fabric
on take-up roller
-
Remove the
fabric clips
-
Bend the
batten stop on mounting brackets back so batten can clear it (See
diagram on right)

Raise shade by
pulling the fabric over the seal roller until batten reaches the top of
track
-
Remove the
seal roller by lifting on one side then the other
-
Gently guide
the fabric out of the track guides one side at a time
-
Pry each end
of the batten open with a flat screw driver. Be careful not to tear the
fabric. Once opened on the end continue opening by hand
-
Slide the new
batten over the shade fabric
-
Slide the bar
stock (weight from old batten) with the friction strip facing away from
the material into the slot in the batten underneath the fabric. Bar
stock must be centered

Clamp together
the batten with a pair of duck bill vise grips or channel lock pliers
with several layers of tape on the jaws so as not to scratch the batten.
Make sure it is lined up straight. You can count the welded patterns to
help in the process

Take the
fabric and carefully thread the end of the quilt side cord on one side
into the top of the track guide about 2”. Make sure it does not snag on
the track guide. Now thread the other side.

Gently lower
about 6”
-
Replace the
seal roller and lower shade to sill or floor

Attach top of
shade to take up roller with the fabric clips
-
Raise and
lower the shade slowly with the pull cord
-
If it does not
raise all the way you may need to add a few wraps of pull cord to the
take up pulley
-
Lower shade to sill or floor
-
Unroll fabric on take-up roller
-
Remove the fabric clips
-
Loosen the bottom bracket screw on the pull cord side
-
Slide the bottom of the bracket out and remove the seal
roller
-
Raise shade by pulling the fabric over the take up roller
until batten reaches the top of track

Gently guide the fabric out of the track guides one side

tighten screw

Wind take up roller so pull cord is wound on pulley(make
sure cord comes off top of pulley)

Attach top of shade to take up roller with the fabric
clips

Raise and lower the shade slowly with the pull cord
